Laylat al-Qadr: The Night of Power

Laylat al-Qadr, or the Night of Power, is one of the most revered nights in the Islamic calendar. It is the night when the Qur'an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the Angel Jibril (Gabriel). According to Islamic tradition, this night holds immense spiritual significance, as it is believed that the angels descend from the heavens, bringing blessings and mercy from Allah (SWT).

The Importance of Laylat al-Qadr

The significance of Laylat al-Qadr is mentioned in the Qur'an in Surah Al-Qadr (Chapter 97). Allah (SWT) says:

"Indeed, We have sent it [the Qur'an] down during the Night of Decree (Qadr). And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months."
(Qur'an, 97:1-3)
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ (1) وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ (2) لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ (3)

This verse highlights the unmatched blessings and rewards of this night, which are greater than the worship and deeds done over a thousand months. The night is a time of forgiveness, mercy, and closeness to Allah (SWT), making it one of the most spiritually rewarding nights of the year.

When is Laylat al-Qadr?

Laylat al-Qadr is believed to occur during the last ten nights of Ramadan, with the 27th night being the most commonly observed. However, it is recommended for Muslims to seek this blessed night during the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Search for Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan, on the odd-numbered nights."
(Sahih Bukhari)

Acts of Worship on Laylat al-Qadr

On Laylat al-Qadr, Muslims engage in extra prayers, seeking forgiveness, and making du'a (supplication) to Allah (SWT). Some key acts of worship to perform include:

• Praying Qiyam-ul-Lail (Night Prayer): It is highly recommended to engage in extra prayers during the night. The more sincere the worship, the greater the rewards.
• Reciting the Qur’an: The Qur'an was revealed on this night, making it a powerful time to recite and reflect on its meanings.
• Making Du’a: It is a night when Allah (SWT) is especially merciful and answers the prayers of His servants.
• Seeking Forgiveness: This is a time to repent for past sins and seek Allah's mercy.

The Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah

Laylat al-Qadr is a time when Allah (SWT) forgives sins and grants mercy to His believers. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“Whoever prays during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
(Sahih Bukhari)

Additionally, Allah (SWT) has promised in the Qur'an:

"Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

(Qur'an, 39:53)

إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَغْفِرُ الْذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

لیلۃ القدر: قدرت کی رات

لیلۃ القدر اسلامی کیلنڈر کی ایک بہت ہی عظیم رات ہے۔ یہی وہ رات ہے جب قرآن حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) کے ذریعے پہلی بار نازل ہوا تھا۔ اسلامی روایات کے مطابق یہ رات انتہائی روحانی اہمیت کی حامل ہے کیونکہ اس رات فرشتے آسمانوں سے اُتر کر اللہ کی رحمتیں اور برکات لے کر آتے ہیں۔

لیلۃ القدر کی اہمیت

لیلۃ القدر کی اہمیت قرآن مجید میں سورہ القدر (چپٹر 97) میں ذکر کی گئی ہے۔ اللہ (سبحانہ و تعالی) ارشاد فرماتے ہیں:

"یقینا ہم نے قرآن کو شب قدر میں نازل کیا اور تمہیں کیا معلوم کہ شب قدر کیا ہے؟ شب قدر ایک ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر ہے۔"

(قرآن 97:1-3)

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ (1) وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ (2) لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ (3)

اس آیت سے واضح ہوتا ہے کہ اس رات کے اعمال اور عبادات ایک ہزار مہینوں کے اعمال سے کہیں زیادہ افضل ہیں۔ یہ رات اللہ کی مغفرت، رحمت اور قربت کا موقع ہوتی ہے، جو اسے سال کی سب سے زیادہ روحانی انعامات والی رات بناتی ہے۔

لیلۃ القدر کب ہے؟

لیلۃ القدر رمضان کے آخری عشرے کی طاق راتوں میں سے ایک رات ہوتی ہے۔ 27 رمضان کو اکثر اس رات کی حیثیت دی جاتی ہے، تاہم یہ رات رمضان کے آخری عشرے کی طاق راتوں میں سے کسی بھی رات کو ہو سکتی ہے۔ حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:

"لیلۃ القدر کو رمضان کے آخری عشرے کی طاق راتوں میں تلاش کرو۔"

(صحیح بخاری)

لیلۃ القدر پر عبادت کے اعمال

لیلۃ القدر پر مسلمان اضافی نمازیں پڑھتے ہیں، اللہ کی مغفرت طلب کرتے ہیں اور دعا کرتے ہیں۔ اس رات کی عبادت کے اہم اعمال میں شامل ہیں:

• قیام اللیل (رات کی نماز): رات کے وقت اضافی نماز پڑھنا بہت ہی مستحب ہے۔ جتنی اخلاص کے ساتھ عبادت کی جائے گی، اتنی زیادہ جزا ملے گی۔
• قرآن کی تلاوت: قرآن اسی رات نازل ہوا تھا، اس لئے اس رات قرآن کی تلاوت کرنا بہت اہم ہے۔
• دعا کرنا: یہ رات ایسی رات ہے جب اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں کی دعا قبول کرتے ہیں۔
• مغفرت طلب کرنا: یہ ایک موقع ہے کہ انسان اپنے گناہوں سے توبہ کرے اور اللہ کی مغفرت طلب کرے۔

اللہ کی مغفرت اور رحمت

لیلۃ القدر وہ رات ہے جب اللہ (سبحانہ و تعالی) اپنے بندوں کے گناہ معاف کرتے ہیں اور انہیں اپنی رحمت سے نوازتے ہیں۔ حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:

"جو شخص لیلۃ القدر کی رات ایمان کے ساتھ اور جزا کی امید میں عبادت کرتا ہے، اس کے گزشتہ گناہ معاف کر دیے جاتے ہیں۔"

(صحیح بخاری)

اس کے علاوہ، اللہ (سبحانہ و تعالی) قرآن میں ارشاد فرماتے ہیں:

"یقینا اللہ تمام گناہوں کو معاف کر دیتا ہے۔ بے شک وہی ہے جو بہت معاف کرنے والا، بہت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔"

(قرآن 39:53)

إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَغْفِرُ الْذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

نتیجہ

لیلۃ القدر ایک ایسی رات ہے جو مسلمانوں کے لئے بے شمار برکتوں اور انعامات کا ذریعہ ہے۔ یہ رات اللہ کی رضا اور مغفرت حاصل کرنے کا بہترین موقع ہے۔ مسلمانوں کو چاہیے کہ وہ اس رات کو عبادت، نماز اور دعا میں گزاریں اور اللہ کی رحمت اور مغفرت طلب کریں۔
