 Surah An-Nas: The Ultimate Protection from Evil

Surah Al-Nas is the 114th and last Surah of the Holy Quran. It consists of six short but powerful verses that serve as a divine shield against evil forces. Revealed in Makkah, this Surah is often recited for protection from negative influences, including the whispers of Satan and harmful intentions of people. Meaning and Translation

Surah An-Nas means “The People.” It is a supplication to seek Allah’s protection from unseen and evil forces that attempt to mislead human beings. Below is the translation of the Surah:

 اردو میں پڑھنے کے لیے یہاں کلک کریں

بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِیمِ 

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

  1. Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind,
  2. The King of mankind,
  3. The God of mankind,
  4. From the evil of the whisperer (Satan) who withdraws,
  5. Who whispers in the hearts of mankind,
  6. From among the jinn and mankind.


 

Why Was Surah An-Nas Revealed?

Surah An-Nas, along with Surah Al-Falaq, was revealed when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was affected by black magic cast by an enemy. Allah revealed these two Surahs as a means of protection and healing. They are often referred to as Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, meaning “the two seeking refuge.” These Surahs teach us to seek refuge in Allah alone from all forms of harm.

Surah An-Nas holds great importance in the life of every Muslim. Here’s why:

''  // // "May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he!"  Explanation: Allah is condemning Abu Lahab, the uncle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, for his hatred and opposition to Islam.
