Surah Falaq: Prayer for protection

Surah Falaq is the 113th Surah of the Holy Quran. This Surah is a short but very powerful supplication. Surah Falaq is a Meccan Surah and consists of five verses. In Surah Falaq, we are advised to seek refuge in Allah from all evil. The evil that can harm our external and internal lives.

Translation of Surah Falaq

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ 


مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا
 وَقَبَ

وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ 
إِذَا حَسَدَ







The Message of Surah Falaq
Surah Falaq reminds us of the fact that there are visible and hidden evils in the world, i.e. lies and deceit. Protection from them is only possible through the protection of Allah Almighty.

Rabb al-Falaq — Remembering Allah Almighty as the "Lord of the dawn", meaning that you say, "I seek refuge in Him Who created the dawn."

Shar ma khaalq — From the evil of all His creations.

Evil can be present in every creation, such as humans, animals, or circumstances.

Shar ghasiq — And from the evil of the darkest night when it covers it. Such as the dangers hidden in the darkness of the night, thieves, animals, or the whispers of the soul.

Nafasat fi la'iqd — And from the evil of those women who blow into knots.
It teaches a prayer to protect oneself from the spiritual effects of magic and envy.

Hasid ida hasid — And from the evil of the envious when he is jealous of me. As
It is a prayer to seek refuge from the evil of those who envy a person's progress and success.

Regular recitation solves problems
Protection from evil
This Surah provides protection from various types of harm and evil.
Clearance of (wrong) negative influences
It helps in protecting oneself from wrong energies and harmful intentions.
Strengthening of faith.
It gives strength of belief in the power of Allah to protect.
The importance of Surah Falaq
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called Surah Falaq and Surah An-Nas "Mu'awwidhatayn", that is, those Surahs from which Allah's protection is sought.
Reciting these Surahs in the morning and evening is the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). Through them, a person prays for the protection of his life, faith, children, wealth and honor.
Summary
Surah Falaq is a powerful prayer that guides us to avoid both spiritual and physical evil. It teaches us to seek refuge in Allah, acknowledge our weaknesses, and rely on His help at every moment.

Let us make Surah Falaq a part of our daily prayers and come under the protection of Allah Almighty.
